Connect your iPod, MP3 player or CD player to your Zenith Trans-Oceanic radio without adapters. We hand make these custom audio cables specifically to allow your portable music device to connect to the RCA female mono phono input on select Zenith Trans-Oceanic radios without the need for special adapters. The cables feature a right-angle RCA mono male connector and either a 3.5mm stereo male connector or 3.5mm inline stereo female connector on the other end. The mono signal is derived by summing the left and right channels through two 2.2K resistors embedded in the RCA mono plug body. Constructed with quality shielded audio cable.
The right-angle RCA connector allows the rear lid of your Zenith Trans-Oceanic to be closed while using your iPod, MP3 player, or CD player.
Convenient 18" length allows your cable to remain inside the radio when not in use. Just plug it in and leave it.
Compatible with the following Zenith Trans-Oceanic models which usually have the phono input jack:
The adapter cable may also be used with other vintage radios with an RCA phono input.

The adapter cable may also be used with the Royal 7000, 7000-1, and D7000Y series radios, but some modifications may be necessary as the RCA phono FM output jack is located inside the back cover on the first generation Royal 7000. However, most Royal 7000-1's and all D7000Y's should have an externally mounted 1/8" mono jack jumpered to the internal RCA phono jack (see photos below). Check your radio before ordering to see if it has the externally mounted 1/8" jack.
To use the adapter cable with solid state Trans-Oceanics with an FM ouput instead of a phono input (3000, 7000, 7000-1, D7000Y), insert adapter cable plug into the FM OUT jack, and turn the band selector knob between bands to kill RF reception. Note that the Royal 3000 FM Out jack is in the same general location as the Phono In jack on the Royal 1000 and 1000D, but there is no switch. The Royal 1000-1 and some 1000D's may not have the phono input. Check before purchasing.
